At long last, the posting. I've been (once again) neglecting the site a bit in terms of content. Whether there's actually people reading it or not, I'll pretend that there is and type up some more shit.
Almost finished uni for the year, only a couple of exams left to do - maths and astronomy, neither of which I'm particularly worried about. Physics was a different story, but I did infinitely better than I expected to. Now just to wait for results, I guess. A bit of study to do for the two remaining, but nothing huge, which is good. Will have to pack up my shit from college in a couple of weeks too, which won't be too bad - I've been bringing it home bit by bit over the last couple of weeks. Saves hauling up a trailer for one large load on the last day. It'll be good not having to pay so much fuckin' rent, but I'll once again miss living in that environment - not to mention the freedom in doing so, even if there's not a great deal of money to spare. Ah well.
And with uni finished, I'll be looking for more work. Most likely doing nightfilling duties at Safeway, but I really am beginning to hate the place - more and more every week. I must get off my arse sometime and start looking for an IT based position; something to do with Linux/Unix systems would be magnificent. The issue is getting reliable work, though, especially with my return to uni next year. Safeway is reliable, and I really don't want to fuck myself over by losing work due to reduced availability next year. Alternatively, a cadetship or something similar at somewhere like CSIRO would be superb, and would compliment studies very nicely.
In other news, coming along nicely (I believe, at least) with the ol' bass guitar, slowly getting better at it, which is good. New teacher is good, too. Certainly different to the previous dude, but not in a bad way. Knows his stuff, and is focusing more on why basslines are what they are, and less on the playing of stuff, which works just fine for me. Not sure yet whether I'll continue tuition next year. The electric guitar, on the other hand, is giving me the shits. The action of it is a bit low - makes for a lot of fret buzz. I dislike the tone of it more and more, and the floating tremolo just gives me the shits. Attempting to play some of Death's easier stuff, but is still not going as nicely as I would like. That said - I'm managing to get some decent sounding riffs out from casual playing, but without some sort of recording device, they usually end up as nothing, which is unfortunate. I really must start looking for a band sometime to play bass in. A bit worried I'll just make an ass of myself, but nothing ventured nothing gained, I guess...
